Rules
The general UVic rules apply, and the convention rules are basically 'Don't be an idiot.' For more information on this, attend the Con-Etiquette panel which will run directly after Opening Ceremonies.
1. No Weapons: No real weapons are allowed on the convention grounds. Anything in a costume that is weapon-like in appearance must be peacebonded. Please see the Weapons Policy for more information.
2. Area Restrictions: We only have the bottom floor the the Engineering and Computer Science building booked this year. Because of security issues, it has been request that we be careful to keep off the upper floors of the building. Consequently, going above the first floor of the convention will result in you being banned from the convention.
3. Respect your fellow con-goers: Don't make others uncomfortable. We want this to be a fun experience for everyone, so respect people around you. Along with this are general rules of no violent behaviour, etc.
4. Keep clear of exits and hallways: Beyond the whole fire-code thing which we need to pay attention to, this allows for mobility, which makes everyone more happy.
5. Listen to the con-staff: If a staff member or volunteer tells you something, listen to what they say. They're there for a very important reason.
6. Dress code: Bikini-level outfits are the maximum level skin that should be showing. And no, this does not mean that you can wear a thong. Dress code discretion will be up to the staff.
7. Respect the people not attending the con: This is a University, and there are students, well, studying.
8. Two strike policy: This basically means you get one warning, where we will hole punch your badge, and the second one means you're banned. If it's something exceedingly dangerous and/or other behaviour deemed inappropriate, this can get get you banned instantly.
