Tsukino-Con 2012 Pokemon League
This year, enter the Tsukino region!
Challenge all the Gym Leaders before taking on the Elite Four to prove that you're the very best! Then, compete for a chance to be crowned the 2012 Tsukino-League Champion!
The Champion wins bragging rights... and a copy of Pokemon Rumble Blast for the Nintendo DS! The Champion will also receive a custom-made 3DS case provided by FireflyTwinkletoes on deviantArt!
All trainers get to pick up some swag and collect the gym badges along the way.
Just to make sure everyone knows, This is an event that will use the Nintendo (3)DS and 5th-Generation Pokemon games.
For those interested in honing their skills as a Pokemon trainer, there are two panels you may be interested in: "Pokemon Competitive Breeding/Battling" as well as “Pokemon Biology”!

TL;DR Version:
All battles will be done using the IR flat battle system. A list of trainer clause-restrictions is below. Gym battles and E4 battles will be auto-leveled to 50 (both up and down). Teams for challenging Gym Leaders will be restricted to teams of 3 for single battles and 4 for double battles. Don’t worry, gym leaders have the same # of pokemon. Elite 4 battles will be using teams of 4 for singles, 6 for doubles. The league champion wins a copy of Pokemon Rumble Blast and a Custom Pokemon 3DS case. Awesome.
Full Version (Click to Expand)Time is fast approaching and a lot of you have been asking what the format for the Pokemon League is going to be and how you should design your teams! Hopefully this short post answers all your questions.
First off, the league is going to run like any league runs. You battle gym leaders and collect 8 gym badges. If you’ve gotten 8 badges, you win the right to challenge the Elite 4 at the end of the con. At the end, the pokemon league champion will win a copy of Pokemon Rumble Blast and a custom Pokemon 3DS case. There are some small differences though:
- Gym Battles will be done in teams of 3 for single and rotation (rotation may be 4) battles, and 4 for double and triples battles. All battles will be run via IR on B/W, so you can flat battle at level 50. There is therefore no restriction on level, and your team’s level could be lower than 50 for challenging the gyms.
- Elite Four Battles will be 4 on 4 Singles/Rotation (Rotation may change), and 6 on 6 for Doubles/Triples. When challenging the Elite Four, teams cannot be changed after you have submitted them, as pokemon will be placed in the battle box, and cannot be removed.

- Self KO Clause
Evasion Clause:
- Moves that boost evasion (i.e. Double Team and Minimize) are not allowed.
1HKO Clause:
- One-Hit KO moves are not allowed.
Species Clause:
- Two or more of the same Pokémon may not be used on the same team.
Self KO Clause:
- If both players have only one Pokémon left, moves which KO both the user and the opponent are not allowed (e.g. Explosion, Destiny Bond). If recoil damage would cause a tie, the player who last attacked is the winner.

On the Sunday at 2:30 pm, a grand tournament of any trainers who have beaten the Elite 4 will begin! It is your job as a trainer to qualify by then! The Elite 4 will be open Saturday evening this year to aid people’s entry. There will also be a total of 10 potential gyms to earn your 8 badges from. Feel free to collect all 10 badges if you’d like! But you only need 8 to qualify for the Elite 4. Hopefully the IR battle system, coupled with a couple gym leaders accepting battles at their artist alley booths, will speed up lines this year and allow more trainers to collect all the badges!
