About Tsukino-Con

We are a small convention put on at the University of Victoria. With the retirement of Kei-Kon last year we will be operating during the same weekend in February, the 25th-27th, 2011.
Here is where you will find all the information you need to know about the history, times and location of our wonderful convention. And if you are still truly lost, and need to find out more, we have our contacts here, so you can email us with your important questions.

History

Tsukino Con is a budding anime convention in Victoria, BC, so strictly speaking, we have a very short history. However, many of the people who were involved in the previous Victoria convention (Kei-kon) have committed themselves to the creation of Tsukino Con. So the history we do have is one of dedication and enthusiasm for this new convention.
The name "Tsukino Con" literally translates to "Convention of the Moon." This relates to the location of the convention, the University of Victoria, and the ring road that surrounds the university. We also thought the name was appropriate because of the Japanese myth of the rabbit in the moon, and the proliferation of bunnies on the UVic Campus.

For those coming to Victoria via the Coho or Victoria Clipper from Port Angles or Seattle, you'll be arriving in Victoria's Inner Harbour. A two block walk up Belleville St. to Douglas St. puts you in front of the Crystal Gardens, you'll be able grab a transit bus to UVic.

You'll want Bus route #4, #7, #11, #14 or #33 the trip will take about 30mins. and cost $2.25 Canadian. The bus will take U$ coin but not U$ bills.

The Hotels are no where near UVic, at least not within any kind of walking distance. I might suggest the possibility of getting some-sort of group rate at one of the Travelers Inn locations off Douglas near a bus route that will scoot you up to the University. Chattam St., Discovery St. or Princess St. would all be excelent locations.
